LeatherLegion Bi-Fold Wallet

All leather construction, simple bi-fold wallet,handmade one at a time,out of soft distressed 3-4oz glossy brown leather .

Ever wonder why most of us refer to the past as the “good ol’ days”? It’s probably because “back in the day” everything was simple, tasteful, well-made…like your small block v8 with its 4 barrel carburetor or your ice cream and its main ingredient…milk, or like your photo camera and the excitement of waiting 2 days to have the pictures developed but never worried about pixilation.

We look with envy at grandpa’s watch that still works great after 60 years; his belt still does its job despite being older than most of us familiar with the “android” operating system; his wallet is as old as  grandma’s picture proudly displayed in one of the pockets.

These were the days when China was mostly known for its “china” and its tea … and not for the full shelves at Walmart. These were the days when “genuine leather” meant just that, and not some plywood-like made “leather”. These were the days when nobody had yet heard of “pleather” or megapixels.

These were the days when people would still take pride in making a good product…a simple, reliable, well-made product.

To remember those days, as a leather worker, I’ve decided to come up with a few items that will hopefully stand the test of time just like my grandpa’s belt …or wallet.

As a first project I decided to start with a simple, all leather, bi-fold wallet. A bi-fold that is not meant to hold your Walmart, Zellers, Costco, Gas+, Sears cards along with 10 credit cards and receipts collected over the last 10 years.

This limited quantity bi-fold wallet will hold 3 cards because it has only 3 card pockets. You can stuff of course more than 1 card in every pocket but that would defeat the purpose of having a thin classy wallet in your back pocket. Also keep in mind, an overly stretched wallet will look just like a size 32 pants on a 38in waist …which in my books is not cool.

Out of the two inside card pockets, one has a window for your ID card .The outside pocket is meant for your most used card.

Along with the 3 card pockets the wallet has a large pocket for your cash…you can probably fit at least 7-8 bills in there. Carrying more than 7-8 bills is pretty much showing off…which again, in my books is not cool.

This all-leather construction wallet can be carried every day and still look good years from now. Due to its simplicity, look and feel, this has to be one of my favorite wallets made so far.

The 3oz leather used for this bi-fold makes it look and feel just like your grandpa's wallet: wrinkled, soft, with a nice rich deep brown color and an old patina. This leather is what will make this particular set of 25 wallets unique and hopefully will help me raise the funds needed to produce this bi-fold design on a larger scale using a more "ordinary" leather
